The two week trip to Indonesia started in Bali. The sun was shining the sea was blue and flowers were blooming. We rented a moped and drove around the Panangbai area, where you can see mountains, villages, rice fields and cocoanut trees.

After a few days in Bali we head over to Lombok (the island of 1000 Mosques). First stop the small island of Gili Air. The tree Gili islands are located just north of Lombok. They are small and motor vehicles are not allowed to circulate, so it's really calm and quiet. We spent a day traveling between the islands by boat, stopping in a few spots to swim right above the coral reef.

After two nights spent on Gili Air, we travel to Senggigi on Lombok. The city of Senggigi is really not that interesting (although lots of tourists spend their vacation there), but it's a good place to rent a car to travel to more remote places, which will be the subject of the next post.
